Milan Gagic
Renior Adviser, New Organisms, Environmental Protection Authority, NZ Dr. Milan Gagic holds a PhD in biotechnology from the University of Auckland, and MSc in biochemistry and human genetics from the Otago University. He has worked for more than 20 years as a research scientist and project leader at Christchurch School of Medicine and AgResearch, Grasslands. His main areas of interests were related to the plant improvement through the use of modern biotechnology tools. He was leading projects looking at the plant and fungal symbiotic relationship, focusing on their role in ruminant health and digestion, in the context of methane and CO2 emission. Milan currently works as a senior advisor in the New Organism team focusing on both, medical and agricultural biotechnology related applications and assessments.
