Tom Irvine is Tumu Whakarae (CEO) of Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, Whai Maia. Whai Maia is the tribal development arm the Tāmaki Makaurau-based hapū, that supports whānau and local communities with a broad range of social, cultural and environmental programs and services. |
Prior to this, Tom was Deputy Director of the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, responsible for all aspects of operations and stake holder engagement. During his career, Tom has worked at senior executive level in a number of commercial enterprises, led international sales teams, overseen process improvement and provided stewardship to client and key stakeholder relationships. His work has seen him travel the globe extensively, while maintaining his roots firmly here in Aotearoa. As a respected Māori leader with strong Iwi and civic engagement experience, Tom has a deep love for Tāmaki Makaurau and its people and is a proud Pāpā and Koro.
